Moegi was about as average as you could get (painfully so, if you were to ask her). Her family was a standard family, a mother, father, and older sister. She looked like any other average girl you might meet at school, and had few talents to made her stand out.
As a young girl, such normalicy bothered her. She longed to be extraordinary, like the stars she would read about in her magazines, like the cool people that went to her school. She fell into a habit of tagging along with groups of girls who were cooler, smarter, stronger, and funnier then her.
To keep up with such groups, she would try anything to make herself interesting. Hairstyles became a large point for her, and she became known as the pigtail girl in no-time. However, this was not the reputation she wanted to earn. She tried to be a “bad-girl”, but was too nice. She tried to be “cool” but wasn’t pretty enough. On and on the facades went, until she found her first group of friends.
She met a boy named Konahamaru. He was the son of the mayor, and had a cocky attitude to boot. Moegi adored his proud nature, and admired his high upbringing. She found him funny, and loved to be around him, and their third friend- Udon. The three became the group of their middle school. However, their group attracted some unwanted attention.
Moegi began to get into fights to defend the honor of her friend, and her parents noticed. They decided the girl would have to transfer schools, and it was with a tearful farewell that the girl said good by to her two friends. She spent the second half of her eighth grade year nearly alone, having a miserable time.
When the time came to choose a school for the young girl, her older sister (who was six years her senior) suggested Oshima- the high school her best friend went to. Supposedly it was a good school, and Moegi could get in, she was sure (she was quite the little singer).
And so, she was enrolled into the high school, getting a partial scholarship to take part in the choir and drama programs. Shy and a little nervous, she was excited to go to a school where so many great stars had once attended.
